Declaration to 'ETAH'

ETAH…I sense I’m just beyond your grasp…
your seeking to envelop me..
I dodge…I twist…I turn…
to avoid your hold on me
Reaching for that better self
layered deep within….
I cannot accept your embrace
nor let you enter in.
oh..ETAH..I feel….. your sordid breath
upon my neck.. whispering gently..
Mmmm.(thoughtfully)...how sweet you are..
Mouth of a serpent I dare not tilt my head
lest I find out who you are…
Lest you turn my flickering light to dark…
And draw me into your abyss…
Seductive though your world can be
I dare not.. be mesmerized by thee..
So proud I stand…although...alone….
Tempted not by you…
Faith in that flickering light
that deems to pull me thru..
Releasing what you could not seize…
hands clasped upon my breast…
I turn to you and declare….
“Goodbye ETAH…forever..
HATE..will not live in here

  1. I teach anger, I teach hate. Greatly I am pleased of the way you expressed yourself in this poetry. Etah would be a great name for a book. All though I teach hate I also teach kindness and accountability. Thanks for sharing this one with me.
